Dudleya rainbow
The dudleyas or “live-forevers˝ of Baja California are a distinctive part of the landscape. This group of plants is found only in southwest US and northwest Mexico, and reaches a peak of diversity here, with many species limited to small areas or even particular islands or peninsulas. Some dudleyas are covered with a wax to protect them from the intense sun, which can refract the light in a rainbow of colors. This is Dudleya pulverulenta found in Nueva York.
