Coastal sage scrub is the most characteristic vegetation of northwest Baja California. It is formed of various low-growing plants, many of which are “soft” and easy to walk through. Here we see California Sagebush (Artemisia californica), Coast Agave (Agave shawii), and Laurel Sumac (Malosma laurina).
